The 2009 Fermi Symposium

AGN: What We Have Seen

Benoit Lott

Abstract:

Thanks to its high sensitivity, large field of view and sky survey operating mode, the Fermi-LAT has opened a new era in extragalactic gamma-ray astronomy. In the first year of science operations, the Fermi-LAT has detected several hundred blazars and a few radio galaxies, which are being studied with unprecedented accuracy. In this talk, I will review the general properties of these sources and highlight major findings.
