Fermi-LAT Discovery of Gamma-ray Pulsars in Blind Searches

Abstract:

The Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope is the first gamma-ray instrument to discover new pulsars. Its much better sensitivity relative to previous generation gamma-ray telescopes in conjunction with the time-differencing technique has resulted in the discovery of a large number of potentially radio-quiet pulsars. 16 pulsars were found in the first five months of data alone. We report on the most recent results of our blind searches, including the discovery of additional pulsars.
