Fermi ToO 050603-1-1

A ToO observation to observe CRAB NEBULA at RA, Dec = 83.6300, 12.0100 (J2000) was approved at 2013-03-04 14:28:18 UTC.

The justification for the ToO is: We are requesting a TOO in support of a GI program for following a Crab flare in the LAT where the daily total gamma-ray flux (E>100 MeV) exceeds 5x10-6 ph/cm2/s. On March 3 the Crab flared to ~8x10-6 ph/cm2/s. This is the most significant flaring activity observed since the April 2011 flare. Additional LAT coverage is critical to enhance the quality of the LAT measurements on short timescales and the extra coverage supports multiwavelength programs for this source.

The planned duration is 300.00 ks.

The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.

The ToO observation should begin between 2013-03-04 14:28:18 UTC and 2013-03-11 14:28:18 UTC.

The ToO observation was requested by DR. ELIZABETH HAYS.

The ToO commanding order was sent to the MOC at 2013-03-04 14:29:49 UTC.

The MOC acknowledged receipt of this order at 2013-03-04 14:31:09 UTC.

The MOC sent the ToO execution notification at 2013-03-04 15:47:48 UTC.

The ToO order status is Uplinked: 2013-063-15:34:14
