Fermi ToO 090602-1-1

A ToO observation to observe CRAB NEBULA at RA, Dec = 78.6300, 7.0100 (J2000) was approved at 2016-10-18 12:19:07 UTC.

The justification for the ToO is: Enhanced gamma-ray activity detected from the Crab Nebula by AGILE and Fermi-LAT data beginning September 30. Two ToOs (090600-1-1,090601-1-1) were already conducted during this flare. Since then the flux is continuously on a high level. The duration of the flare is already 3 weeks, which is unusually long. The ASP shows a daily averaged flux of (6.3 +- 0.3) E-6 ph cm-2 s-1 above 100 MeV on 16-Oct-2016 12:00:00 UTC. This is more than twice the average flux.

The planned duration is 350.00 ks.

The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.

The ToO observation should begin between 2016-10-18 12:19:06 UTC and 2016-10-25 12:19:06 UTC.

The ToO observation was requested by DR. ROLF BUEHLER.
