The Fermi-LAT Measurement of the Primary Cosmic Ray Electron Spectrum Between 5 GeV and 1 TeV

Luca Latronico, INFN, Sezione di Pisa

Abstract:

The Large Area Telescope (LAT) Collaboration has published the most precise measurement of the primary cosmic ray electron (CRE) spectrum between 20 GeV and 1 TeV with the first six months of data collected by the Fermi observatory. We report here an extension of this measurement down to 5 GeV, based on a full year of data, which provides important information for constraining models of the CRE origin and propagation. Some details of the high energy analysis that are crucial for supporting the result are also discussed.
