How to Reach Roma City Center from Airports

TAXI:

Taxi costs at least 50 Euro from Fiumicino Airport to Roma and at east 40 Euro from Ciampino Airport to Roma. Luggage fares need to be added (about 1 or 2 Euro per luggage).

Ciampino Airport "Giovan Battista Pastine":

It is connected to Roma Termini Station via bus + train:

There is also a direct service via bus: http://www.terravision.eu/rome_ciampino.html. It costs 4 Euro and travel lasts 40 min.

Fiumicino Airport "Leonardo da Vinci":

Fiumicino Airport is connected to Rome by a railway service on two possible paths:

  1. Fiumicino Airport - Roma Termini no-stop train "Leonardo Express". The train runs every 30 min, travel lasts 40 min, ticket costs 14 Euro and can be bought at station counters, ticket automatic machine, and at newspaper kiosks in Termini and Fiumicino.

    Warning: at Termini Station the trains leaving/arriving to/from Fiumicino are based at track 26 or 27, which are quite far from the station entrance/exit; we advise to take ten minutes more into account to walk.

  2. Fiumicino Airport - Roma Tiburtina (arriving from Fara Sabina with stops at Roma Trastevere and Roma Ostiense). The train runs every 20 min, travel lasts about 45 min, ticket costs 8 Euro and can be bought at station counters, ticket automatic machine, and at newspaper kiosks in Tiburtina and Fiumicino.

    Once at the Tiburtina Station, you can reach Roma city center via Metro (line B, Direction Laurentina, stops Termini, Cavour, Colosseo etc) or by bus (bus number 492, Direction Cipro, drives near Termini and most of the suggested Hotels are on its path).

How to Move Inside Roma:

Roma public transport system is based on 2 metro lines and several bus lines. Both Metro lines stop in Termini, most of city center bus lines stops in (or nearby) Termini.

How to Reach Symposium Site "La Sapienza Aula Magna":

The Aula Magna of Rome University "La Sapienza", P.le Aldo Moro 2, is at walking distance from the Termini Railway Station.

We strongly encourage not to use bus service in the rush hours (7-10 am, 17-19 pm).

By Bus:

Ticket need to be purchased before to get on the bus. You can buy tickets at newspaper kiosks everywere in the city and at Termini Station.

By Metro

Metro Line A:
Stop at Termini and then follow walking instructions from Termini
Metro Line B:
Stop at Policlinico and then walking to University ~12 min. Please see: Google Maps.

Ticket need to be purchased before to enter the Metro. You can buy tickets at newspaper kiosks everywere in the city and at the automatic machine at the gateways.
