Abstract:
Since the Fermi launch the Large Area Telescope (LAT) has continued to perform regular time-domain monitoring of the gamma-ray emission from bright and variable blazars and other AGNs, on time scales from hours to years. For the first time we can study the high-energy flux signals above 100 MeV with continuity from a variety of gamma-ray sources, currently with a 6-year baseline. Together with observations at other wavelengths, it is furthermore possible to study variability and multifrequency correlation properties in a much more systematic and detailed way than ever before, shedding light on variability phenomenon across the electromagnetic spectrum and spatial scales. Some selected highlights from coordinated multifrequency observations and the gamma-ray variability properties of the brightest LAT blazars are presented.
