Abstract:

According to theoretical predictions, primordial black holes (PBHs) at the final stage of evaporation give a burst of gamma-rays up to TeV energies. We use 5 years and 4 months of the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) data to put constraints on evaporation of PBHs from a non-observation of bursts of gamma-rays at or above ~ 100 GeV. We significantly improve the current limits for burst-like signatures of PBH evaporation derived by the HESS collaboration. We also update the limits on integrated emission from PBHs over the lifetime of the universe from the recent Fermi LAT measurements of the isotropic gamma-ray background.
