Abstract:

Gamma ray data from Fermi-LAT reveal two giant bubbles extending up to $sim 50^circ$ above and below the Galactic Center, dubbed the 'Fermi Bubbles'. Several models have been argued to explain the spectrum, the $gamma$-rays from $pi^0$-decay(hadronic) or from Inverse-Compton scattering(leptonic). Mertsch et al.(2011) consider the space dependent 2nd-order Fermi acceleration of electrons, and fit the spectrum by the leptonic scenario. We develop their model by considering the time dependence of acceleration and the radiation from escaped particles. We calculate both electrons and protons, and reproduce the observed $gamma$-ray spectrum, sharp edges, and the spectral hardening at high latitude.
