Electron and positron data: viable interpretations

F. Donato

Abstract:

We present an interpretation for the origin of the electron and positron data in terms of astrophysical primary components and a secondary component produced in the interstellar medium. We compute the flux of electrons produced via a diffusive shock acceleration in supernova remnants as well as emission of positrons and electrons from the pulsar wind nebulae of the ATNF catalog. We also discuss possible primary fluxes coming from the annihilation of dark matter in the halo of our Galaxy. The analysis aims at identifying the physical parameters compatible with the observed spectra. Our predictions are compared to the most recent Fermi-LAT and AMS-02 data.
