Using GRBs to cross-calibrate Fermi/GBM and INTEGRAL/SPI

A. von Kienlin

Abstract:

The simultaneous detection of bright GRBs observed by Fermi/GBM and INTEGRAL/SPI gives us the opportunity to cross-calibrate GBM with the well-calibrated spectrometer SPI on-board INTEGRAL. SPI is able to perform high-resolution spectroscopy of astrophysical sources in the energy range between 20 keV and 8MeV, thus providing a large overlap in energy range with GBM (8 keV ? 40 MeV). As example this poster is presenting the time-resolved spectral analysis of GRB080723B, a bright GRB with 6 pulses, lasting for about 105 s, detected by the INTEGRAL burst alert system IBAS. This burst was also observed by GBM.
