11th International Fermi Symposium

Code of Conduct

The Fermi Symposium upholds a commitment to cultivating an inclusive and professional environment where all participants conduct themselves in a manner that is welcoming to all attendees and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. It is our collective responsibility to foster a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment to enable scientific discourse at these meetings.

Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, and educational background. Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images and stalking.

Violations of this code of conduct policy should be reported to the meeting organizers. Sanctions may range from verbal warning to ejection from the meeting without refund, to notifying appropriate authorities. Bystander intervention is encouraged to help maintain a safe and inclusive environment. If a participant observes inappropriate comments or actions and personal intervention seems appropriate and safe, they should be considerate of all parties before intervening. Retaliation against individuals reporting misconduct will not be tolerated, and all concerns will be addressed with integrity and diligence. Together, we strive to ensure that the Fermi Symposium provides spaces where everyone can engage in meaningful scientific discourse without fear of harassment or discrimination.
