Q: What is the cost of registration after September 14th?

A: Student/emeritus/retired registration will be $550 ($50 more). Regular registration will be $750 ($100 more)

Q: Where can I obtain an official invitation to the meeting in order to apply for a US visa?

A: Please email us your request at fermisymposium2018@bigbang.gsfc.nasa.gov with your name, title, citizenship, affiliation and we will be happy to send you an invitation.

Q: What is included in the Registration Fee?

A: The registration fee includes all lunches as well as the Banquet.

Q: I have to cancel my registration. What is your refund policy?

A: As noted on your registration receipt: "A 100% refund will be provided upon request until 30-days prior to the event (September 14th, 2018, 11:59PM). A 50% refund will be provided upon request until 7-days prior to the event (October 7, 2018, 11:59PM). No refunds will be provided after October 8th unless there are extenuating circumstances (i.e. cancellation, force majeure, government shutdown, etc.)."

Q: I have a talk at the symposium. What fraction of the full time slot should be devoted to questions?

A: For a 15 minute talk: 12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions. For a 30 minute talk: 25 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for questions.

Q: Will there be proceedings from this Symposium?

A: No proceedings are planned for this meeting. We will post the presentation on the webpage (unless the author chooses to opt out). Material can also be posted to arXiv as "presented at the Fermi Symposium" if there is interest.

Q: I am a student. Is it possible to waive all or part of the registration fee?

A: Unfortunately, our financial resources are limited. In order to allow the largest number of participants, we are only able to offer students a discount on the registration fee.

Q: I am a student. Is it possible to obtain financial aid towards traveling to the meeting and/or accommodation?

Q: Does the hotel provide parking?

A: The hotel has 24-hour valet and covered self parking facilities. Rates are from $23.75-$35.00 USD per day.

Q: Does the hotel provide electric plug converters?

A: Sorry, the hotel does not have electric plug converters.

Q: What is the maximum size that poster presentations can be?

A: These are traditional (not electronic) posters. The maximum space on the boards is 48 inches by 48 inches, but it is usually a good idea to make the poster a bit smaller than that.
