Abstract:

When Fermi was launched, nobody would have dared to dream that the number of gamma-ray pulsars would have soared to more than 200. Indeed, Fermi LAT has proved to be a very successful pulsar hunter. What matters is both the quantity and the quality of gamma-ray emitting neutron stars whose diversity have surpassed our wildest imagination. Thanks to new techniques, devised to mine the fermi database with the help of citizen scientists, the field continues to grow producing a continuous sequence of exciting results whose interpretation challenges existing theories.
