Creating a Software Package for BurstCube

Noah Kasmanoff

Abstract:

In this presentation, I describe the Python oriented simulation software for BurstCube used to optimize the cubesat’s localization capabilities. Furthermore, I describe the process used to interface with MEGAlib to characterize how BurstCube's detectors are affected by the spatial limitations inherent to cubesats. Combining these tools. it is possible to simulate the effects of a GRB, and by iterating over many such instances, the science case of BurstCube is further developed.
