Fermi ToO 030600-1-1

A ToO observation to observe CRAB NEBULA at RA, Dec = 83.6330, 12.0140 (J2000) was approved at 2010-09-23 13:31:53 UTC.

The justification for the ToO is: The Crab Nebula is undergoing a flare of unexplained origin in the MeV-GeV waveband. The enhanced exposure available with a targeted observation will allow the best possible measurement of the spectral and timing characteristics of this event. The previous flare lasted ~11 days. The current high state has been ongoing for the last 5 days leaving time to catch the remainder if this event follows a similar development.

The planned duration is 500.00 ks.

The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.

The ToO observation should begin between 2010-09-23 15:49:00 UTC and 2010-09-30 15:49:00 UTC.

The ToO observation was requested by DR. ELIZABETH HAYS.

The ToO commanding order was sent to the MOC at 2010-09-23 13:44:25 UTC.

The MOC acknowledged receipt of this order at 2010-09-23 13:45:40 UTC.

The MOC sent the ToO execution notification at 2010-09-23 17:45:12 UTC.

The ToO order status is Uplinked: uplinked at 266-15:50:50 re-scheudling has commenced
