A ToO observation to observe CRAB NEBULA at RA, Dec = 83.6300, 22.0100 (J2000) was approved at 2014-03-11 15:58:31 UTC.
The justification for the ToO is: The Crab Nebula, a known variable GeV emitter and the subject of several multiwavelength campaigns, is showing a notable increase in activity in the LAT data over the past several days. The LAT flux has passed thresholds for requesting enhanced coverage and multiwavelength observations and is currently continuing to increase. Enhanced LAT coverage will provide improved statistics for short timescale lightcurves and spectra, particularly for the low end of the LAT band, where the flare component appears. Past flares have been sustained for at least several days as requested for this observation.
The planned duration is 300.00 ks.
The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.
The ToO observation should begin between 2014-03-11 15:58:30 UTC and 2014-03-18 15:58:30 UTC.
The ToO observation was requested by DR. ELIZABETH HAYS.
The ToO commanding order was sent to the MOC at 2014-03-11 15:59:32 UTC.
The MOC acknowledged receipt of this order at 2014-03-11 16:02:38 UTC.
The MOC sent the ToO execution notification at 2014-03-11 16:28:17 UTC.
The ToO order status is Uplinked: Uplinked with RA83.63 and DEC 12.01
