Fermi ToO 070605-1-1

A ToO observation to observe 3C279 at RA, Dec = 189.0465, -15.7893 (J2000) was approved at 2015-06-17 15:00:40 UTC.

The justification for the ToO is: Blazar 3C279 continues to be extremely active. One 6-hour run yesterday had a flux of over 3 x 10^-5 above 100 MeV, and clear intraday variability is seen. We know there are multiwavelength programs that are covering this flare, also. In light of the ongoing activity, extending the TOO for an additional 350 ksec (which will carry through the weekend) certainly seems to be a good idea. The combination of pointing and scanning that allows full sky coverage is a good approach.

The planned duration is 350.00 ks.

The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.

The ToO observation should begin between 2015-06-17 15:00:39 UTC and 2015-06-24 15:00:39 UTC.

The ToO observation was requested by DR. DAVID J THOMPSON.
