Fermi ToO 090601-1-1

A ToO observation to observe CRAB NEBULA at RA, Dec = 78.6300, 7.0100 (J2000) was approved at 2016-10-12 18:45:02 UTC.

The justification for the ToO is: Enhanced gamma-ray activity detected from the Crab Nebula by AGILE and Fermi-LAT data beginning September 30. One ToO (090600-1-1) was already conducted during this flare. Since then the flux has continued to increase. The ASP shows a daily averaged flux of (6.8 +- 0.5) E-6 ph cm-2 s-1 above 100 MeV on 11-Oct-2016 12:00:00 UTC. This is more than twice the average flux. The flux has only been this high 5 times during the Fermi mission.

The planned duration is 350.00 ks.

The autonomous request threshold during this ToO is LOW.

The ToO observation should begin between 2016-10-12 18:00:00 UTC and 2016-10-19 18:00:00 UTC.

The ToO observation was requested by DR. ROLF BUEHLER.

The ToO commanding order was sent to the MOC at 2016-10-12 19:02:34 UTC.

The MOC sent the ToO execution notification at 2016-10-12 19:50:16 UTC.

The ToO order status is Uplinked at or before: 2016-10-12 19:49:11 UT
